While the Sony SDX2-36C has a smaller capacity as compared to the SDX2-50C, 36 GB native as compared to 50 GB native, this is mostly due to the fact that the SDX2-36C was released on a tape of shorter length hence accomodating a smaller capacity as compared to its bigger brother. Other than that the two are pretty m,uch the same as they both have MIC chips (flash memory which allows quicker access to files, etc) and an AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) tape formulation.
